Kabira, Wanjiku Mukabi, Ph.D. Agikuyu. Ed. George Bond, Ph.D. New York: Rosen (Publishers) Group, 1995. Print. This book was super helpful to me since all of it was dedicated to just the Kikuyu people. It included various information regarding a little bit of every single topic that I was supposed to cover. There I could see some very interesting things about who they are as a group and some concluding items to finish my family life section. Agikuyu was a very nice tool to use on my research project.
“Kikuyu People.” Wikipedia. Wikimedia Foundation (Inc), 30 Nov. 2014. Web. 3 Dec. 2014. <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kikuyu_people>. The Kikuyu wikipedia page gave me a lot of information that dealt with all of the topics. One of my most used sources was definitely this site because I could get information on religion, history, and their regular lives all from one place. It was so useful that it organized it into specific sections to easily find the information that I needed. The Kikuyu Wikipedia website was a great place to start this research project.
Maren, Michael. The Land and People of Kenya. New York: Lippincott, 1989. Print. The Land and People of Kenya provided me with much needed details on Kikuyu culture and life. This book dabbled a bit into their religion and their belief of Ngai. It also included a little about their personal life, so it was very valuable since I had not yet learned what it had to say. Over all, this book was a big help for me to add to my website.
Pateman, Robert. Kenya. Reference ed. New York: Marshall Cavendish, 1993. Print. Kenya proved to be a great and valuable source when making my informational website based about the Kikuyu people. In its section on the Kikuyu, I came across a very brief history of them, but it was able to add some information to my understanding. The book also mentions that most of the Kikuyu were positioned in the Kenya highlands around Nairobi, Kenya. So, this book by Robert Pateman was a great help for my information gathering.
